We are thrilled to announce the 35 innovators chosen as finalists for the Mayor’s Resilience Fund!
Delivered in partnership with the Mayor of London, the Fund supports the development of innovative products and services to address socially impactful issues facing London, helping us emerge stronger from COVID-19 and ensuring the capital is prepared for future disruptive challenges.
We received hundreds of compelling applications, and our judges panel was faced with the difficult task of choosing the finalist teams that will embark on a sprint co-creation phase to bring their solutions to life.
The finalists present a variety of imaginative ways to improve Londoners’ futures, such as:
- Open source platforms to create affordable and flexible workspaces in Hackney,
- Tools to visualise and model the impact of interventions aimed at improving air quality in Lambeth,
- Journey planning apps to empower people to travel on public transport safely and confidently throughout London,
- Creative ways to generate renewable energy on the Royal Docks,
- Open source services to better link up food donation supply chains for vulnerable people in Barnet.
Each team will receive £10,000 and the opportunity to work closely over the next five weeks with the Resilience Partner behind their challenge - which include councils, government agencies, BIDs and charities - to develop their solution. They’ll also receive specialised support in service design, pitch coaching, data usage, navigating government procurement processes and more. At the end of the first phase, the judges will review each team’s progress and choose one winner in each challenge, to be awarded £40,000 each and the chance to implement their solution.
