Live event was held: 10 December 2020, 15:00 – 16:30 BST

COVID-19 has driven hundreds of thousands of people out of employment and into financial instability, leaving them out of work, out of prospects and out of pocket.

The Rapid Recovery Challenge is Nesta’s flagship initiative to help those who have been economically impacted by COVID-19.  The £2.8 million prize supports innovative tools and services that will improve access to jobs and money for 1 million workers hardest hit by the economic shock resulting from COVID-19 in the UK. The Challenge is supported by JPMorgan Chase Foundation and the Money and Pensions Service.

Join us to discuss and explore the ways in which innovation can help solve a piece of the UK’s recovery puzzle.

  • Hear from our CEO Ravi Gurumurthy on why we decided to focus our contribution to the COVID-19 recovery effort on jobs and financial recovery.
  • Join experts in the field as they discuss why and when there is a need for innovation in the UK’s COVID-19 economic response and their hopes for the Rapid Recovery Challenge.
  • Meet the newly announced Rapid Recovery semi-finalist innovators and hear how their tools and services can transform the jobs and finances for one million people in the UK.

This event is for those who work in or think about responses to employment or personal finance in light of COVID-19. It is open to anyone who wants to explore ways in which innovation can help solve a piece of the UK’s recovery puzzle, including policymakers, thought leaders, innovators, investors and enthusiasts.
