Barbara is a Programme Manager at Challenge Works, currently overseeing the £6.25M Wellcome Snakebite Innovation Prize that aims to tackle snakebite envenoming deaths and disabilities. Prior to that, Barbara delivered on one of our flagship prizes, the Longitude Prize on Dementia. Barbara is passionate about investigating and implementing innovative solutions to international development issues. She has worked across a wide range of industries in Mexico and in the UK, including the charity sector, impact investing, and AI unicorn startups. Barbara has experience managing teams, projects and conducting financial and data analysis. She holds an MSc in Development Studies from LSE and a BA in Economics from the Instituto Tecnologico de Mexico in Mexico City. In her spare time, Barbara enjoys being outdoors, either reading a good book, skating, or exploring nature and the city.
