What is the Mayor’s big ideas challenge?
The Mayor’s big ideas challenge is a £1 million initiative launched by West Yorkshire Mayor Tracy Brabin in February 2025. The challenge was designed to accelerate innovative solutions, products, or services that address health inequalities among communities across West Yorkshire.
In July 2025, 19 finalists were selected from over 100 entries, with each receiving a £20,000 development grant and expert support. Following a competitive seven-month acceleration phase, three winners have been selected to receive £100,000 each to further their solutions.
Winners were announced at a celebratory event held at Bradford Live in March 2026.
Meet the Winners
- Asclepius MedTech Ltd developed Surgfit: a remote monitoring system to help hospitals deliver safer and more effective surgical care.
- Harmonai Hub created an AI-powered wellbeing platform for carers, offering personalised support and empowering mental health, resilience and connection.
- Mind Body Goals developed a digital tool, Luma³ Editions, that offers breathwork and mindfulness techniques, providing accessible, preventative mental wellbeing support.
